Bolton CAMRA 2017 Mild Trail – Saturday 20 May

Bolton branch annual mild trail will start in Bolton this year at Great Ale in the market meeting at 12.30pm. Moving on we catch the 125 bus from the bus station* to Bunburys, Chorley Old Road, arriving at approximately 1.30pm. The trip will continue on the bus to Horwich where we will visit the following pubs (timings are approximate)

Branch Social – 22 April

Branch Social: Bolton wander

As a branch we don’t go around Bolton town centre very often but we are going to correct this in our monthly branch social for April. We will meet at Great Ale at the market at 1.30pm on Saturday 22 April. After a beer or two we can move on to some of the other pubs around the centre of Bolton.

Spring Pub of the Season Vote

Online voting is now open for the Bolton CAMRA Spring Pub of the Season. Online voting will close at 11.59pm on Wednesday 5th April, and the final opportunity to vote will be at the branch meeting on Thursday 6th April. The venue is the Horwich Conservative Club, Church Street, Horwich.

Regional Pub and Club of the Year Judging

The Branch needs to put forward some judges for the Regional Pub and Club of the Year. This involves visiting the PotY and CotY in the other Greater Manchester branches during March and April and carrying out the scoring using the standard forms.

Any Bolton CAMRA member is eligible to carry out the judging – if you are interested please contact the branch chair Graham Walsh.

Pop-Up Pub at the Vaults

The Eagle and Child, Ramsbottom is currently undergoing refurbishment, and the pub has temporarily ‘moved’ to The Vaults at Bolton Market Place.

The pub has two changing real ales, and is open 10-11 Mon-Thu; 10-Midnight Fri & Sat; 10-11 Sun.

The Flag Inn Beer Festival

The Flag Inn, Bromley Cross, will be holding a beer festival this month.

The event will run from 27 – 30 October, featuring 16 cask ales over the duration of the festival.

Breweries include: Weetwood, Bank Top, Kirby Lonsdale, Saltaire, Partners , Salamander
and Phoenix. There is a 25p discount for card-carrying CAMRA members.

Live music on Saturday, and food available every day until 9pm.
